Junior Section Wins Battalion Bowling Competition (27th February 2010)

On Saturday 27th February we took part in the annual Junior bowling competition for the South East Essex Battalion. Our team of 4 Liam, Liam, Jamie and Connor were the winners. Jamie also scored the individual highest score out of all the boys that attended from the South East Essex Battalion.

Senior Houseparty (23rd to 25th October 2009)

We were pleased to be invited by the 22nd Southend Boys Brigade Company and 2nd Southend Girls Brigade on the weekend of the 23rd to 25th October. We had loads of fun doing loads of different activities including a trip Swimming during Saturday afternoon and a to Megazone Rayleigh. There was also a time for devotional slots and for a Fab roast dinner on Sunday. |

Fun at BDCG Summer Camp, Swanage (25th July 2009 to 1st August 2009)

Our annual summer camp at the BDCG site in Swanage was a fantastic success. Myles and Bradley attended from the 10th and joined with other young people form the 1st Southend BB, 22nd Southend BB, 24th South East Essex and 2nd SouthendG GB, all enjoyed the team games and trips to Splashdown water park in Poole.
The evening worship was excellent again this year, with camp learning to equip them with the Armour of Christ, as well as learning new worship songs.
An amazing £400 pounds was raised for the camp appeal for Anusaran in India, from lost property fines, hair cutting, water bucket throwing and as always auctions.

Awards and Goodbyes at July Church Parade (12th July 2009)

At our last church parade for the 08/09 Session we made a presentation to our Chaplain Jane Guest, as she moves on to pastures new, but it was not all sad as we celebrated what the Junior Section Boys had achieved over the year.
Bradley was awarded a Gold award, Kieran a Silver with many of the other boys achieving either the Bronze or the first award called Target. |

10th Takes Part in the First Battalion Paintball Competition (11th July 2009)

The first competition for Senior Boys and Young Leaders took place at the Go Ballistic Paintball Site in Rochford. 17 boys and leaders jounded up to have fun shooting paint at each other.
All enjoyed the event and are looking forward to more senior activities in the future. |
Weekend Camp (8th-10th May 2009)

We were pleased to be invited by the 22nd Southend Boys Brigade Company and Girls Brigade on the weekend of the 9th to 11th May to their annual weekend camp at Danbury Outdoors. The 11+ plus group went along on Friday evening errectied light weight camping equipment and cooked for themselves, time was given to play some late night games too. The Junior group ages 8 to 11 joined on Saturday morning, they too played loads of games, and enjoyed the following suppervised activites Aeriel Runway, BMX-ing, Archery and Tree Top Rope Course as well as time to learn about Jesus.

Jack Petchey Award for Myles (8th March 2009)

At our March church parade we were please to award Myles with his Jack Petchey Award for assistance in setting up and regularly help run our Monday night meetings, he received a Certificate and Badge, plus £300 as been donated to the Company to purchase new equipment for our Junior section activities.

Junior Battalion Bowling Competition(28th Feb 2008)
On Saturday 28th February we took part in the annual bowling competition for the South East Essex Battalion, unfortunately we did not win but was not far behind the winning company. Most importantly we had an enjoyable time participating against other Companies in our local area.

Junior House Party 2009 (14th and 15th February 2009)

We were pleased to be invited by the 22nd Southend Boys Brigade Company and Girls Brigade on the weekend of the 14th and 15th February. We had loads of fun doing loads of different activities, these included cooking our dinners, games down the park, playing football and playing Nintendo Wii’s during Youth Club. We also went home with a Good News Flower on Sunday Afternoon.

As part of our celebrations for BB125 we offered tickets to see Southend play Swindon Town at Roots Hall. Bradley, Keiran and Jamie all had fun seeing Southend Beat Swindon Town. . |

At first Church parade of the 0809 session, we celebrated the founding of the Boys Brigade 125 years ago, with a special Birthday cake after the service, which was enjoyed by Boys, Parents, Church members, visitors and friends of the company.

The Boys Brigade Celebrates 125 Years (4th October)

To Celebrate 125 years of Boys Bridgae the South East Essex Battalion arranged a party for all Boys and families. The day started off with Energize Puppets show and the Rev Phil Andrews at the top of Southend Hight Street, followed by a procession down the high street to the Pier Cliff where 125 balloons was launched. Finally we spent the rest of the day at Southend's Adventure Island where fun and games was had on all the rides and attractions in the park.

Summer Camp 2008 (July 26th to August 2nd)

Our annual joint summer camp at Swanage on the BDCG campsite was a great success. With Campers and staff raising over £900 for the camp appeal by hosting various auctions where 3 Jam Doughnuts sold for over £60 as well as the usual fines for lost property. Loads of games, quizes and a trip to Splashdown with 'Team Team' winning the Camp Competition.

Awards awarded to Junior Section Members (12th July 2008)

During our last church parade of the 2007/8 session a number of our boys that joined us between February and Easter were awarded the first of 4 badges called 'Target' with a Bronze award given to Bradley. All the boys are well on the way to achieving their gold award which is the highest award issued to Junior Section boys. |

We were pleased to be invited by the 22nd Southend Boys Brigade Company and Girls Brigade on the weekend of the 9th to 11th May to their annual weekend camp at Danbury Outdoors. The Junior group ages 8 to 11 joined on Saturday morning, they too played loads of games, went swimming with the Seniors and woke the staff up at 4:30 am on Sunday morning. |
